I think subject are fine however Geography is having lengthy syllabus therefore unless you have studied Geography at graduation level then that will be little tough.

Checkout http://CompetitionExam.com where Naresh has provided books for lot of subjects.

Thanks Prakashak.

After visting the link suggested by you a doubt creeped in my mind that the books suggested by naresh for IAS will also help in UPPCS or not .

(i) Is there any study material or books that are exclusively for UPPCS?
(ii) From where i could get IGNOU stuff?
(iii) As Naresh has said Public Administration is unconventional then what stuff i should follow to keep myself update?
(iv) How should i prepare for essays?

Please dispell my doubts

Though I may not be able to give very detailed answer on this. Will request Naresh to check this out.

(i) My understanding was that IAS and UPPCS syllabus was more or less same.
(ii) One way is to approach nearest IGNOU study center. You can check the same at IGNOU site, second is to get hold of some second hand book selling shop.
(iii) There are Pub Admn journal as also Newspaper and magazine
(iv) Grammar, Vocabulary and reading a lot.

Well dear the sunject was more or less same upto last to last year but last year there was some changes in IAS syllabus so there may be some addition and deletion but more or less they are same so u can read the same books for optional although the approach becomes different in state srvices more focus will be there on facts while in civil services more emphasise will be there on analytical part. You can check books at your local bookseller specially in Allahabad you can easily books as per UPPCS syllabus. You can get these books directly from MAidanGarhi office of IGNOU or as said earlier contact your nearest IGNOU centre for details, they are there in most parts of country.
For Pub Admn u need to be more vigilant abt ur surrounding events and read Yojna, IJPA, Kurukshetra and India 2009 in addition to prescribed books.
For Essay only one thing help and that is to write and take help of someone who can check it for you, even if there are no one, you keep practice by writing on current issues as it helps u in mains GS also.
Hope that help u and others.
Cheers !

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research. The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) conducts the UGC-CSIR NET for other Science subjects, namely, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences jointly with the UGC. The tests are conducted twice in a year generally in the months of June and December. For candidates who desire to pursue research, the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is available for five years subject to fulfillment of certain conditions. UGC has allocated a number of fellowships to the universities for the candidates who qualify the test for JRF. The JRFs are awarded to the meritorious candidates from among the candidates qualifiying for eligibility for lectureship in the NET. JRFs are available only to the candidates who opt for it in their application forms.

The test for Junior Research Fellowship is being conducted since 1984. The Government of India, through its notification dated 22nd July, 1988 entrusted the task of conducting the eligibility test for lectureship to UGC. Consequently, UGC conducted the first National Eligibility Test, common to both eligibility for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship in two parts, that is, in December 1989 and in March , 1990.
